Job Purpose

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Transport Lead to oversee daily transport operations and administration. In this key role, you will be responsible for planning and scheduling deliveries, ensuring efficient routing and timely service, and maintaining full compliance with transport legislation.

• What You'll Be Doing
• Lead day to day transport operations and administration.
• Manage and schedule deliveries, planning efficient routes, ensuring timely and efficient service.
• Communicate effectively and facilitate good working relationships with drivers, suppliers, and customers.
• Responsible for driver compliance: checking tachograph cards, defect checks, PMI, vehicle service bookings etc.
• Support the branch team with sales, customer service and administration when required.
• Knowledge / Experience Required
• Logistics and transport planning experience with awareness of Transport Legislation.
• Ability to adapt to a fast paced, changing environment.
• Strong IT skills and regional geographic knowledge.
• Proactive, flexible and enthusiastic attitude.
• Previous experience within the builders merchants or construction supply industry (desirable).
